PTFA

The role of the Shillington Lower School PTFA is to advance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education which are not normally provided by the local education authority.

Every parent at Shillington Lower is a member of the PTFA – the Parent Teacher and Friends Association. We have a dedicated group of parents that work relentlessly to organise a range of activities to raise funds. Past events have included school discos, Xmas Fayre, summer ball, camping, fun run and bingo.

Funds raised by the PTFA are an essential lifeline for the school and have been used in the following ways:

  • to maintain the swimming pool (maintenance/energy)
  • to subsidise the increasing cost of school trips e.g. Woburn Safari Park, Warwick Castle, Willows Farm
  • to fund enrichment events e.g. Young Voices
  • to purchase additional resources e.g. xylophones.

Without the support of the PTFA the school would be unable to run the swimming pool and additional costs for the summer trips would need to be passed onto parents. We would like to thank the PTFA for their incredible efforts.
